Amsterdam

Amsterdam... fall in luv with this place since i watched korean movie DAISY. Its a really great movie and i play it over n over again. This tragic tale of love and guns set movie was filmed in the atmospheric city of Amsterdam. Its a nice place that where i want to live or hv a gud time with 'my other half'. I like the Amsterdam's Dam Square where we there r street painter and we can just simply walk in and ask them to draw pic of us.

i just figure out that Amsterdam is actually 4 meters below sea level. woo i cant image how a land is lower that sea level.. how cant the water not flood that place? No wonder i can see a lot of canal(boat) in the movie and ppl live in boathouse or known as Poezenboot. The name Amsterdam comes from the combination of the river Amstel and the Dam that was built on it in order to found the original village know today as Amsterdam.

One of my lecturer aka my naqibah said that in Amsterdam, the house is really unique. They r like an apartment yg terdiri drpd unit2 kecil rumah yg jika kita tgk dr depan hnya sebesar tingkap (maybe bigger) but ia memanjang ke dalam. Means ia sempit tp panjang (i guess its rite) and the stair only can fix one or two person in one time and do u think how they fix the house with all the furniture? hoho the answer is, they use sumthin like roller at their window and pull the furniture from ground to their window.. huhu interesting.. kirenye klu bli peti ais, depa akn tarik peti tuh dari bawah smp ke level umh depa melalu tingkap umh depa... huhu...menarik2..cam dlm citer ayat2 cinta lak main tarik2 bakul..huhu

No wonderlaa kat Jakarta, bekas jajahan Belanda, pon ada satu kawasan yg dimn rumah2 dibina ala2 kat amsterdam tuh and ada terusan air sebagai pengangkutan utama depa....BUT satu masalah yg di hadapi di Jakarta is terusan tuh bukanlah air yg mengalir and sistem saliran ia xbtoi menyebabkan merebaknya penyakit denggi dan malaria...isk3! Kan Amsterdam di bwah paras air laut. So air sentiasa akan mengalir. And did u knw that Dutch people r the world experts on keeping back the water / sea from over running their country and turning it into another Atlantis.

But whats more interesting bout Amsterdam based on the Daisy film is the DAISY itself.... waahhhhhhh i can see alot of fresh and beutiful daisy there in Amsterdam( i hope this is the fact laa..xtaw laa kot2 citer ni hnya olahan shj) i really love daisy... white daisy is the best! Penah bace somewhere (dh xigt) yang daisy ni means HIDDEN LOVE.. haha ntah btoi ke idak... ppl alwiz say rose is their fav flower. not me... i like to b diff frm anyone else.. with that i'll be unique... Tringat time dok hostel dlu...time org prep or study, i will be on my bed, sleeping.. but when they r sleeping, i will b the one yg study..ahaha...pelik tul laa budak ni.

Deception Points
2:42 PM | Author: nadIRa

Alhamdulillah after almost 3weeks (dlm bz2 pon curi2 baca), i managed to finish reading Deception Point. Selalunya klu buku english nih lembap sket nk abs... kekdang bc sekerat jer then tinggal entah kemana. But this book really make me eager to finish it. Becoz it full with suspense and unputdownable. Buku yang ada 585 page nih hnya berkisar cerita dlm 1 HARI !!(just final 20 pages jer yg berkisar cerita esknya).

Bayangkan bhgn awl cerita Rachel Sexton (heroin dlm buku nih) diberi tugas tp dia xtaw aper tugas dia sebenar. Dari dia di page utk berjumpa dgn bos dia kat NRO, kemudian dia dihantar menaiki MH-60G PaveHawk heli tuk berjumpa Mr Presiden of USA then meeting with presiden in VC-25-A or world knew it as Air Force One. Chat with Mr Pres, she still dun knw what exactly her task. Mr Pres still make it riddle even served a cup of coffee for her. Then she was asked to ride F-14 Tomcat Split-tail Jet to Artic. Its the fastest way to fly from US to Artic i presume. Once touchdown the Artic, she met Nasa's Administrator in habisphere. The Nasa's Administrator told her bout the meteorite that found buried in 200 feets ice then introduced her to Micheal Tolland(the hero) who a tv documentary star. Stil dun hv the idea what's the task she hv to do, she then meet Corky Marlison( meteorite expert), Paleontology expert, Dr Wailee Ming and Norah Mangor (glacier Expert). To know what exactly Rachel Sexton have to do after traveled thousands of miles away from home with diff transport and pitstop, and with full of question that hv to answer, READ URSELF!! .

Nway, before i proceed, I want u to think how to pull a gigantic meteorite weight thousand of tons from beneath of ice to top? Heat the meteor by laser beam and as the ice arount the meteor melted, its easier to pull. BRILLIANT!

Then talking bout flying microbot (MEMS) as small as mosquito and control by joystick for surveillance. Do u think how to charge the microbots? just hovering directly beneath a bright light source or jyst simply parking within a few inches of magnetic fields like power outlets, computer monitors, electric motors, audio speckers and cellphone. easy and yet can be very smart spy and somtimes can b kill device also!

Nuclear submarine Charlotte also catch my interest. its design to 'listen and not to be heard'. its very large submarine (i dun want to picture the size) which have a dictionary of sounds and waveforms. Could distinguish between the sounds of several dozen Russian submarine propellers, hundreds of marine animals, and even pinpoint underwater valcanoes as far away as Japan.

Byk lg technology yg dpt blaja frm this book. Heli Kiowa, megaplumes etc (xlarat nk tulis).

While reading this book, i was thinking how many references he needs to complete this novel. Yalaa klu kita tulis journal pon references dia punya laa banyak tuk 1 paper jer. Dan Brown (penulis buku nih) sgt smart and intelligent( sama laa tuh). Boleh lihat betapa luasnya pengetahuan dia tentang byk perkara. Kkdang perkara yg dlm bidang kita pon kita tak taw tp dia taw.

Conclusion, penulis buku ni mmg hebat! salute laa (dia juga penulis buku The Da Vinci Code). Pikir2 klu nk difilemkan citer nih, surely laa its gonna be hi-budget movie. Pelakon dia..hmm klu heroin dia, blom dpt pikir yg sesuai yg pasti bukan Angelina Jolie sbb dia tooo tough, bukan Julia Robert or Reese Whiterspoon sbb too feminine. lom ada calon. Hero dia can be smart soldier Josh Duhamel (Transformers and series Las Vegas) tuh huhu. Bos NRO William Pickering should be Billy Bob Thornton (Armageddon), Nasa Administrator Conrad Coates (Kyle XY), Mr Presiden must be some1 innocent, he must be err lom dpt ilhamm, Segewick Sexton must be John Slatery (Desparate Housewives) and Corky Marlinson must be Jack Black (School of Rock).Gabrielle Ashe pon no idea lg saper but for sure not Halle Barry:P huhu xde keje namanyer nih .

Ok THE END!

Kalau korang ada idea please leave comment kat bwh.
Sushi
2:40 PM | Author: nadIRa

After a long-tired-inspiring meeting that day, we went out for lunch at SUSHI KING!! . The whole lab member pegi just akmal n umair didnt go coz they didnt eat sushi:( nway this is ,y first time eating sushi. Thank u to my cute-japanese girl maisura yang introduced sushi to me and all of us.

A months before i already surf to the internet about sushi king menus. Usually when we talk about sushi, we will think of the raw fish laying on the half-pulut-rice and warp with the green seaweed. But im wrong. There r a lot of variety menus including udon, tempura, unagi(eel) etc...Not only the raw fish! So i was haunting for my eligible-can-eat menu and mostly, i love all menus that hv shrimp.. i love shrimp and they didnt serve raw shrimp for sure..huhu ^_^.For sushi, they hv variety of choice and the price is refer to the color of the plate. If the plate is blue so its means RM2 and if the plate is purple, its means RM6. Look up for more info bout the sushi king and their menus here.

Overal, i enjoyed sushi so much...we enjoyed sushi so much! But not frequently laaa. sekali sekala bole laa huhu bcoz my stomach hv to get familiar with the taste and structure..
Hypothermia
2:40 PM | Author: nadIRa
Hypothermia is a condition where the normal body temperature of 37°C (98.6°F) drops below 35° (95°F).

Hypothermia is usually caused by being in a cold environment. It can also be triggered by prolonged exposure (staying outdoors in cold conditions for a long time), rain, wind, sweat or being under cold water.

If exposure to the cold continues, your body's own automatic defence system will try to prevent any further heat loss by this steps:
STEP 1 : Start vague numbness in limbs as blood retreated to body's core to protect critical internal organs.
STEP 2: Delirious hallucinations would come next, as the pulse and respiration slowed, cheating the brain oxygen.
STEP 3: Then, the body would make final effort to conserve its remaining heat by shutting down all operations except the heart and respiration.
STEP 4: Unconsciousnee would follow.
STEP 5: In the end, heart and respiration centers in the brain would stop functioning altogether.

Treatment

Hypothermia is treated by preserving body heat and preventing any more being lost. If treating mild hypothermia at home, or waiting for medical treatment to arrive, you should:

  • move the person indoors, or somewhere warm, as soon as possible,
  • ensure that they change out of any wet clothing,
  • wrap them in blankets, towels, coats whatever you have protecting the head and torso as a priority. Your own body heat can help someone with hypothermia try gently hugging them,
  • increase activity if possible, but not to the point where sweating occurs, which cools the skin down again,
  • if possible, give the person carbohydrates to eat to provide rapid energy, or fats to provide prolonged fuel to the body,
  • give them warm drinks, but not alcohol, and
  • once body temperature has increased, be sure to keep the person warm and dry.

There are also some things that you should not do when treating someone with hypothermia. You should not:

  • re-warm an elderly person using a bath as this may send cold blood from the body's surfaces to the heart or brain too suddenly, and may cause a stroke or heart attack,
  • apply direct heat (hot water, a heating pad etc.) to the arms and legs as this forces cold blood back to the major organs, making the condition worse,
  • rub or massage the person as, in severe cases of hypothermia, there is a risk of heart attack. It is s therefore important to be gentle, and
  • give the person alcohol to drink, as this will decrease the body's ability to retain heat.
Medical treatment aims to warm up the body from the inside. Doctors do this by giving warm fluids intravenously (through a vein). In some cases, haemodialysis may be used. This is a treatment to take blood out of the body and warm it up before returning it. The blood is filtered through an artificial kidney , much like dialysis treatment for people with kidney failure.
Headache
2:39 PM | Author: nadIRa

What aches when you have a headache?

There are several areas in the head that can hurt when you have a headache, including:

  • a network of nerves that extends over the scalp
  • certain nerves in the face, mouth, and throat
  • muscles of the head
  • blood vessels found along the surface and at the base of the brain (these contain delicate nerve fibers)

The bones of the skull and tissues of the brain itself do not hurt because they do not have pain-sensitive nerve fibers.

What happens during a headache?

Nociceptors (the ends of the pain-sensitive nerves) are stimulated by stress, muscular tension, dilated blood vessels, and other headache triggers, and send a message to the nerve cells in the brain, signaling that a part of the body hurts.

Different chemicals help transmit pain-related information to the brain, including endorphins -- natural painkilling proteins. It has been suggested that people who suffer from severe headaches, or other chronic pain, have lower levels of endorphins than people who are generally pain-free.

How do headaches differ?

There are two main types of headache, primary and secondary:

  • primary headaches - account for more than 90 percent of headaches, and include:

    • tension (muscular contraction)
    • vascular (migraine)
    • cluster headaches not caused by other underlying medical conditions

  • secondary headaches - account for fewer than 10 percent of all headaches, and include headaches that result from other medical conditions. These may also be referred to as:

    • traction headaches
    • inflammatory headaches
When to see a doctor about a headache

According to the American Council for Headache Education (ACHE), headaches are rarely a symptom of serious underlying medical conditions, however, you should consult your physician if any of the following apply to you:
  • three or more headaches per week
  • must take a pain reliever every day or almost daily
  • need more than the recommended doses of over-the-counter medications to relieve headache symptoms
  • have a stiff neck and/or fever, in addition to a headache
  • headache is accompanied by shortness of breath, fever, and/or unexpected symptoms that affect your eyes, ears, nose, or throat
  • dizziness, unsteadiness, slurred speech, weakness, or changes in sensation (numbness and/or tingling) in addition to your headache
  • confusion or drowsiness that accompanies your headache
  • headaches begin with, but persist after, a head injury
  • headache is triggered by exertion, coughing, bending, or sexual activity
  • headache keeps getting worse and will not go away headaches have changed in character
  • headache accompanied by persistent or severe vomiting
  • have your "first and/or worse" headache
  • headaches began after you reached the age of 50

Keep in mind that, even if you have had headaches for many years, it is still possible to develop a new and possibly more serious type of headache.

Ayat-ayat Cinta
2:35 PM | Author: nadIRa

"Cerita apa?" aku bertanya. Ini mesti best!.

H selalu berkongsi perkara yang menarik denganku. Aku pun sama. Dia sahabat dekat yang paling rapat. Kenapa aku kata sahabat dekat?

"Ok nnt aku tgk mlm nih iA", balas ku. Wah xsabarnyer nk tgk!

Aku menyambung balik kerjaku.

Hoh! curi tulang! isk2!

Kadang kala ia mengundang airmata, tetapi penghujungnya tetap ilmu yg berguna.

Sekian....
